L'Oreal GlamShine Stain Splash - Review!

Hello Lovelies,

I have been meaning to write up this review for so long but kept forgetting which shades I'd photographed and which I hadn't but I finally managed to sort myself out and here we go...

Recently I have been absolutely loving L'Oreal Paris GlamShine Stain Splash - they're my go-to lip product if I'm feeling a bit lazy in the morning because I know that I can just slick it on and it'll look fab!

The glossiness of the product doesn't stay on very long, especially if you're eating or drinking, but the colour stays vivid for longer than most lip products that I've tried and it's super easy to just put another coat on and you're good to go!

In terms of colour pay off they aren't particularly the best, as you'll see in the pictures of me wearing them, they all look rather similar. You also have to apply it, waiting for it to go a bit tacky or dry a tad, then apply it again if you want to build up some colour.

The range of colours available isn't huge at the moment but they're only a new product so I'm sure this'll expand before long. They aren't overly expensive, yet at the same time not the cheapest lip product out there at £7.99.

I would definately recommend these to anyone who wants a quick and easy lip colour that looks beautiful and there are still shades that I can't wait to get my hands on!

love and kisses

Have you discovered... MUA!

Hello Lovelies!

Welcome to my third "have you discovered" post, this week it's one that you may well have discovered on your own, but up until a few months ago, I didn't know that such a brand existed and I'm slightly worried that others may not either!

This brand is MUA, mainly stocked at Superdrug but available online at a few other places. They are the most affordable, but still a good quality, make up brand that I have found to date. In comparison to the likes of Natural Collection, MUA are streaks ahead.

Their range starts at just £1, yes £1! And even their largest eyeshadow palette is only £8 for 24 shades - you really can't say fairer than that!

I personally love their "Undress your Skin" range which leaves you looking as though you haven't got make up on, but you naturally have flawless skin - something that we all secretly want to achieve. It's perfect for when I'm feeling particularly confident.

They have something for everybody too, with lip products, face products, nail varnishes and even brushes there's not a lot that I can fault about this brand!

Click here for a link to their lovely website!

Have you discovered MUA yet?

Ancienne Ambiance Goddess Water - Review!

Hello Lovelies!

Apologies that I've been away for a few days, I kept forgetting to bring my cable in to get the pictures off of my phone, and now my internet is being too slow to upload them!

Anyway, I have a lovely product to tell you about that has no pictures from my camera so away we go!

When I first discovered Ancienne Ambiance I immediately thought of my Mum or Mother-in-law as they appear very luxurious and high end, and the quality of the products doesn't disappoint either.

I really wanted to try the Goddess Water Tonic as it looked intruiging, it's made from only Organic Rose Water and I wanted to see how this would benefit my face. We spend a lot of time and money on products that have been through expensive labs and have loads of ingedients so I thought that this was a nice change!

It does smell amazing, and my skin was desperately trying to break out however after two days of using this it had started to clear up and felt a lot less puffy than it usually does. I also love that you can use this as either a cleanser or a toner (or both in one as I did) which is great for me first thing in the morning!

I wouldn't recommend this as a make up remover as I found it quite difficult to use in this way, but on it's own as a cleanser or toner it made my skin feel lovely! You don't need much of it either - bingo!

I also got some beautiful luxury soaps that I just know I'll never bring myself to use so they are currently decorating my bedroom and dressing room and making them smell lush!

Their Goddess Water is currently on offer on their website at only £14 for 300ml so go and grab some now! The soaps are also only £14 for a giftset and they do some lovely other giftsets perfect for pressies!

Glam Republic Eyeliner Appliqués

Hello Lovelies,

I always seem to struggle when doing winged eyeliner and anything more than a discreet or thin line always ends up odd and wonky and just causes more stress than it's worth!

Well, Glam Republic have come up with a wonderful solution in their Eyeliner Appliqués and they really really work - I was slightly sceptical that these may smudge my existing eyemake up and not sit quite right but they stayed on all night and looked like I'd drawn my eyeliner on - only much neater.

They work in much the same way as false eyelashes in that you apply a small amount of glue to the back of them, wait for it to go tacky and then lay it against your eye in your desired position and hey presto! Perfectly matching eyeliner.

You can use them again as well and I am testimant to this - I rarely wear false eyelashes again but I've worn one set of these twice and still not thrown them away which really makes you feel as though you're getting good value for money.

I have a set of plain black and some glittery ones for when I want to glam it up and whilst I don't think that my workplace are ready for me to wear these during the day, they don't look ridiculously thick and I was more than comfortable wearing them out for dinner with Lee.

They also do this fabulous sparkly set which I am dying to get my hands on but they're limited edition so if you love them as much as I do, I'd go and grab a pair fast!

You can buy these at either boots or superdrug for just £8.99 for two pairs which considering you can wear them again and again, I think is extremely reasonable!

I'll upload a picture of me wearing them as soon as I can as I always forget and nobody wants to see my make-up at the end of the night!

Love and Kisses

My lovely Baylis & Harding bath!

Hello Lovelies,

Every now and then I believe that us women (or maybe just this woman) need a good soak in the bath to be completely selfish and think of nothing other than the Ben Howard's voice singing away to you (mind's out of gutters people).

If you follow this blog or my twitter you may well know that I recently had surgery on my neck and as a result couldn't get it wet for four days. Smarty pants here chose to go from Leo straight to the doctor, with hair that I should have washed that morning. So I found myself upset because my neck was in pain, alone because Lee was staying at his parents and unable to have a shower. *lightbulb moment* Bath Time!

I personally couldn't wait to get into my Baylis and Harding bath so I actually sat in it waiting for the tub to fill up because I was just too excited. My entire bathroom smelt amazing of the jojoba and my skin feels so soft without even moisturising!

I also had this lovely cleansing waffle sponge that made my bath a lot easier considering I had to be careful not to get my neck wet! I think that I owe my super soft skin to this beauty, it felt as though it was getting rid of all of my dead skin and it even took off that final patchy layer of fake tan that was annoyingly hanging around.

I also used their limited edition jojoba, silk & almond oil hand wash and now I feel as though I've had a manicure (aside from the chipped nails) and I keep sniffing my hands they smell so lush.

I think that every woman should have some Baylis & Harding in their bathroom and I'll be very sad when I've used these up. The handwash is strictly off limits to Lee!

Baylis & Harding do some fantastic gift sets that are perfect for that hard to buy for Mother or Mother in Law too! Go check them out on their website.

Have you discovered... Oldrids!

Hello Lovelies,

This one is very Lincolnshire specific, so if you're not from Lincolnshire or you're not prepared to travel, I don't want to waste your time. This week's "Have you discovered" is about my favourite department store in the world - Oldrids.

Oldrids' flagship store in the heart of Boston (a very luxurious store in the middle of a not-so luxurious town) holds some very happy memories for me throughout all walks of my life, from when I was really little racing to get to the top of the building to their toy department, to buying my Brownie's uniform, to coo-ing over all of the baby clothes for Lee's 3 month old Nephew.

Now, most of you probably don't know what, or who Oldrids' is. It's a department store that sells quite a lot of stuff! They have Oldrid's in Boston Town Centre that has some lovely make up counters, a small home section, handbags, clothing, toys and a cafe. Then there's their out of town store "Downtown" that specialises in a wider variety of furniture and some foods, as does the Grantham store which also has a garden centre. They've also recently acquired two more sites in Lincoln and Gainsborough - I've not had the priviledge of checking these two out yet but watch this space.

Oldrid's is the first place that I ever splashed out on luxury make up - the lovely girl on the Lancome counter make me completely fall in love with their Teint Idole Ultra 24h Foundation and was so not pushy or snobby that I bought it! She threw in some lovely extra goodies and as such, all of my future Lancome purchases have been from there!

I feel as though the girls on the make up counters are always more than happy to sit and do your entire make up if you ask them to and they're also knowledgable about the products beyond just slapping them on (there's nothing worse than someone who just cakes as much on as they can and pretends they're an expert) and they are some of the most helpful people that I have ever met.

I've just had my sofa delivered from Oldrids, you might expect them to be more expensive than big high street retailers but we found that their prices on furniture are more upfront. When sitting down with Next, SCS and DFS they suddenly add hundreds of pounds on for things such as delivery (are they expecting me to take it home in my pocket?!) But apart from having our old sofa removed (a mere £15) nothing was at an extra cost!

They do have a more budget range of furniture as all stores have to these days, but if you spend a bit more in there you truly do get great quality items that will last you a long long time.

They also stock clothing lines such as Joules which I always find really hard to get my hands on anywhere other than country fairs and village shows.

If you are ever in the area I thoroughly recommend that you pop into one of Oldrid's 5 stores in my local area, they're a little slice of luxury in an otherwise fairly bland place and I love them!

Do you have any department stores that are only available in your town?

Love and Kisses

An ushy-smushy lifestyle post!

Hello Lovelies,

I don't usually do many lifestyle kind of posts but I want to make a start as some days I do live a very nice life! This one is a couple of days late as this all actually happened Thursday and Friday of last week but I wanted to write it once it had all actually happened - if that makes sense?

I was both dreading and longing for my time off last week, it's been a stressful week at work due to lack of staff and new people coming into the business (I take a bit of time to get used to and adjust to new people in my working environment) but at the same time, I knew that I was having surgery on my neck so I was really really nervous!

The last time that I went for "minor surgery" at my local doctors although it was painfree, I could feel everything and it was horrible! But this time I had a lovely nurse who was laughing at my flicking through pictures of Leo on my phone to distract myself and kept me from totally freaking out and I'm glad that it's all over with.

I also went to see the lovely Leo, although I didn't get to ride him too much as the farrier came after we'd only really just warmed up but still it was nice to see him and was the first time that I'd ridden him since I fell off so I feel so much better for doing so!

He has a bit of a crazy time in what I call the sand pit and it was nice to stand and watch him hace a silly 5 minutes to himself, we're really starting to get a great bond and it was lovely when he nuzzled into me whilst the farrier did his thing - cute.

As I had done (a teeny eeny bit of) exercise and been through a (not very) traumatic time at the doctors I decided to treat myself to a McDonalds and by the looks of things my Vauxhall Adam is made for it! My drink and fries fit like a glove. Match made in heaven or what?!

We also had our new sofa delivered which, after months and months of only have a small two seater and one arm chair, is like heaven on earth to be able to actually sit together and not panic when we have guests as to where on Earth everybody is going to sit?!

Have you had a nice weekend? I'm going to miss having weekends off when our new rota kicks in!

Love and Kisses

MUA Undress Your Skin Collection -

Hello Lovelies!

MUA is fastly becoming on of my make up brands so I am so excited to tell you all about their Undress Your Skin range that I have been loving for a few weeks now!

Their Illuminating foundation is my go-to if I'm having a good skin day or if I'm going somewhere like riding or it's my day off and I don't want as much coverage. I find it easiest to apply with my fingers (naughty) but that way I get a really even coverage and my skin looks lovely.

MUA also do this beautiful highlighter that makes my skin look radiant and glowy even with minimal foundation. Before this I never wore highlighter as I just didn't feel that I would see much benefit, however I no longer go out without this on! It makes my skin look luminous and bright, ready for the day even if I've had no sleep!

Now here comes my confession, I don't always wear a primer - this is purely down to time and effort first thing in the morning but when I do use their Flawless Skin Primer, my make it goes on smoother and definately lasts longer. It also makes me feel more "finished" before I go out for a meal. I'm trying to make time for this little beauty more often!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my most favourite thing about MUA is their amazing value for money, they're right up my street with this range starting at just £3 for the highlighter and I think that the results are worth far more than that!

You can shop their full Undress Your Skin range on their website here.

There's so many MUA products that I want to try - Can you recommend any?

Love and Kisses

Tweezerman!

Hello Lovelies,

Have you ever been excited over tweezers before? No, me either. I can't even remember when I bought my tweezers that I've always, always had and I've definately taken them for granted.

I've always looked at the pretty different patterns and variety of tweezers that Tweezerman offer in my local Boots but came to the conclusion that "I have some tweezers, why would I need anymore?" Maybe that was me being stingy or maybe it was me being lazy, but ladies, you do need to change up your tweezers!
After using my Tweezerman Tweezers even for the first time I was immediately kicking myself for not getting new tweezers sooner, they grabbed hairs that before I could only wax off or that were usually too short and I've have to wait a few days for my old tweezers to be able to grab them.

They also have some lovely summery designs at the moment, I want to collect them all!

Tweezerman Tweezers are available direct from the Tweezerman Website or from many stockists around the world from just £14.50 and they are definately worth the investment!

How often do you renew your beauty tools?

love and kisses

April Birchbox!

Hello Lovelies,

Gosh I'm always late aren't I, but I'm sure you'll come to love it! Yesterday I uploaded my April Birchbox Video to Youtube, you can go and watch that on my channel. I wanted to do a blog post to go with my video as I'm still very very new and concious that my video's may not be as informative and non-rambling as they could be!

April is the first month in which I have received a Birchbox, or any box of this kind for that matter and I was very excited to try out all of the goodies! I think that they are such a fab idea for people like myself who wants to try out different products without splashing out on the whole thing straight away.

I'll start with a confession, the first product; Gerda Spillman's Renaissance Age Serum, was swiftly given to my Mum as she's been dying to try some of the lovely things that I now have and I thought that this would be more suited to her. I'll let you know how she finds it when I remember to text her about it! The full sized version of this is a whopping £69.00 so it had better be good but my Mum loves an indulgence now and then so hopefully she'll treat herself!

The product in the middle of this picture is La Societe Parisinne De Savons soap which smells beautiful, I doubt that I'll ever bring myself to use this as it's packaging is lush and it just looks too pretty to ruin but having said that, I normally cave in and use them anyway! It retails at £8.50 and I think it would make a fab present for a mother-in-law who you might be stuck on!

The lip product this month is Mirenesse's Glossy Kiss which retails for £17.50, a little steep for a lip stick but it did hydrate my very, very dry lips and stay on all through my youtube video and riding my horse (which I don't think anyone has ever tested a lip product on, ever, but I just did, and it won, so there!) I would like to try a slightly lighter shade of this as it was a bit too red for me but overall it was a very nice treat!

This Weleda Skin Food is something that I definately will be buying once this runs out, it's full-size big sister is £8.95 and it really really helped my drier patches. Sometimes my skin borders on having eczema and my elbows especially become a bit funny, I had also just fake tanned and it completely god rid of any orange patches around my elbows, knees and the backs of my ankles!

MMM Natio's Renew Radiance Foam Cleanser, this easily my favourite thing in the box and the one that I have been using the most. This has become my "luxury" cleanser if I feel like I need a pick me up or I'm going out somewhere special I use this to give my skin a deep clean and it makes me feel so much better! It only retails for £9.20 and I'm definately going to invest, I want to see what other products Natio do as well and delve into those too.

A nice, spring like little touch to end off the Birchbox treats is this cute little mirror. The coral case is very nice and spring-like and I wish that I could "let the sunshine in" - if only we had any! I'm very sceptical of mirrors that are "open" and don't have a lid as I worry that they'll get scratched but maybe I just shouldn't carry so much crap in my handbag?

love and kisses

Have you discovered... Kent Brushes!

Hello Lovelies!

Apologies I've been away for nearly a week, I hope that you are all good and lovely. I've decided to call time on my "Thankful Thursdays" post as I think that it's starting to get a bit thin. Something that I've been wanting to do for a while is a "have you discovered" feature where I share with you a brand/product/store that I don't quite think gets the raving that it deserves.

So to kick this exciting feature off is a brand that truly shocked me when I decided to research into them and realised that not only are they part of some of my earliest childhood memories, but they are also much, much more diverse than I would ever have imagined.

The brand to which I am referring to is "Kent" well known for good quality hairbrushes, but do you know how much further they go than just the hair on our heads?
CLASSIC M
"Classic M" RRP £18.00 from kentbrushes.com
Kent have a range of toothbrushes, too! These range from £2.85 for a standard toothbrush, to £18 for this handmade brush pictured above. They've even created a toothbrush especially for smokers too!
TWMU0
"Twelve" Make Up Brush Range RRP £100 from kentbrushes.com
They also have a complete range of Make-Up brushes which I personally cannot wait to get my hands on! Again ranging from £6.65 for their angled eyeliner brush to £38.50 for the bronzer/powder brush. You can also purchase a full set for just £100!
Headhog
HeadHog RRP £6.65 from kentbrushes.com
How many of you recognise this little beauty? When I was little I would only allow my Mum to brush my hair if it was with the "HeadHog" Brush, now I'm sure that Kent didn't create this brush as a novelty for children (they do have an entire range for babies and children now, though) but it worked for me and I'm fairly certain that 20 years on, this hairbrush is still going strong at my Mum's house!
AHGLO01
AirHedz Glo for Thick Hair RRP £6.95 from kentbrushes.com
I contacted Kent a few weeks ago now to ask them for help with my hair as I'm struggling with it falling out quite badly at the moment and they instantly replied and very, very kindly sent me one of their Air Hedz Glo brush that works by releasing energising ion molecules that stimulate my scalp and help to promote healthy hair growth and I must say, I've already noticed a massive improvement in my hair!

I could go on for hours about Kent and all of the wonderful products that they offer, but instead I'll direct you to their website here! Go and find out all of the beautiful brushes, I'm sure you'll find one that fits your hair perfectly!

love and kisses

Elemis Fresh Skin Range - Review

Hello Lovelies!
I know that I've harped on a lot recently about Boots No7 Skincare range and I'll be honest, I was dubious to try anything different! But when this came through the post I was desperate for a new exfoliator and it's almost as though Elemis and I were meant to be!

I always find it annoyingly hard to find skincare products designed for my age group, it seems to either be for spotty teenagers or women trying to make their skin look younger. I don't fall into either of those catergories so when I found that Elemis do this range - I was instantly interested!

The softly softly moisturiser makes my skin feel soothed and cleansed and just completely nourished, if you use one entire pump then it's far too much for my face but by just using a moderate amount, it soaks in quickly and you can see the benefits almost instantly.

I also adore the Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash - I find that sometimes an exfoliator makes my face go bright right and then I have to wait for ages before I can apply make up, but this appeared to be more gentle, yet more effective! I saw the results the moment that I woke up, my skin looked clearer and brighter!

There are so many products in this range that I want to get my hands on, namely their Dreamy Sleep Night Time Moisturiser as well as their Tired Eyes Soothing Eye Rescue. Elemis also do a "Discovery Kit freshskin take-away taster kit" which I think is a brilliant idea!

You can purchase the entire Elemis Fresh Skin Range on their website.

Have you tried any products from Elemis? I think I'm addicted!

love and kisses

Thankful Thursday - Health

Hello Lovelies!

I'm going to start by being honest with you, I'm starting to struggle for things to write about without them becoming a bit - thin. I'm not giving up yet but I have done this feature for 8 weeks now so I'm still pretty proud of myself!

So today what I am thankful for is my health. I've got no particular reason to be extra grateful today of all days, but over the weekend I was talking to Lee about the fact that I haven't been ill in a while.

I know that sounds odd - most people do go quite a while without being ill and never applaud themselves, but I went through a stage of being rather ill rather often and it was not fun.

I've never been majorly ill but in January 2011 I went for a regular ECG to monitor my heart when they discovered that there was a problem in the way that it regulated itself, it's all a bit too technical for me to even understand yet alone explain but it was scary!

I left school in the March of that year as I was due to have an operation to try and fix it smack bang in the middle of my exams and subsequently got rubbish A Levels (annoying). As it turned out my operation wasn't until further into the summer but a small part of me genuinely believed I might die and it pretty much ruined those couple of months in my life.

Now, over 2 years on, I haven't had any problems with my heart for a good few months and it's normally my own fault on the rare occassion that I do and I am so grateful for that.

There was a time when I thought I would be restricted in a lot of ways because of my heart, I had to wear monitors and travel 2 hours to Leicester every month, but it doesn't affect my job, it doesn't affect my riding and most importantly it doesn't affect my life!

I feel very lucky that my heart problem has been the only major issue that I've had thus far and I always make sure that I remind myself of that once I've done something that, at one point, I never thought I'd be able to do.

I hope that you are all happy and healthy this week!

love and kisses

L'Oreal Paris Elvive Tanning Range - Review

Hello Lovelies!

Did you hear that I went to the Big Smoke last month? If you follow me on twitter, you probably did as my friends moaned that their timeline was full of it - whoops! Anyway, I was lucky enough to go to the launch of L'Oreal Paris's New Elvive Tanning Range and I've finally had an excuse to try it out!

I was super super excited to try their new range out, although some of the products aren't new - It's all been rebranded and repackaged and it looks lovely - I almost didn't want to use it for fear of spoiling it!

I would have liked to try the mist however, I rent my house, and my bathroom isn't particularly tiled so I think I'll have to wait until I'm a little more brave to try that one out! Cheryl Cole is wearing the mist in all of the ad's and from listening to how they applied to to her, they haven't photoshopped it at all so it looks flippin' fab!

The type that I went for was their Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Tinted & Shimmering Gel - I've never used a gel before so I was a touch nervous at how it would turn out, but other than a few blotches here and there due to the fact that my house was freezing and I applied and then got dressed far too quickly - I was very impressed!

It didn't turn out quite as dark as I would have liked, but it gave me a healthy spring-like glow which was nice! It's also got some lovely shimmer and glitter which is fantastic for a party, this part of it does come off in the first shower though so I was a bit gutted when I showered and washed my hair my coctail party and lost all my glitter - but I'll consider it a lesson learned!

I finished off my look just before the party with this nourishing body oil - I love this stuff - I'll wear it even if I get a natural tan as it makes your legs look super moisturised, super glossy and super long and slim! It feels a bit odd and I was slightly afraid to cross my legs but I looked in the mirror and actually liked the look of my legs!

You'll have to excuse my lack of pictures of me with the tan - I wasn't feeling my best and as such there are no photos, but when I next apply it I'll be sure to show you all the finished result!

L'Oreal Paris have extended their tanning line quite a bit so there's something for everybody! Take a look at their website right here!

love and kisses
