Seventeen Phwoarr Paint

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint £5.49 12g - This lovely new product from the very underrated brand Seventeen couldn't seem any more up my street if it tried. Usually the point of these posts is to let you guys know what I've got my eye on and see whether or not you recommend it however with this one I think I may already be sold. Oops. At just £5.49 it's not too much of a price to pay on a gamble and I've already heard great things. I'm slightly disappointed that it only comes in 2 colours (although one of those will suit me I always feel it's unfair) but maybe they're planning to add more later on. It's also supposed to be a little cakey for those with dry skin, I know that's usually me but I can't say I've ever noticed it to be a problem under my eyes so I shall let you know on that one! They say it's "the hard core concealer to wage war on under eye circles" and under eye circles are something I've been battling all of my teenage and now adult life. I can't wait to let you guys know how I get on with this.

Shiny happy ... Doggies?!

Hello lovelies!

If you know me at all, you'll know that my dog is my life, and if there's one thing that makes him happy, it's being with my in-laws two German Shepherds and acting like he's just as big as them! So, as is becoming routine, I thought I'd share some pictures of them all running around like crazy people!

I think that Harvey and Archie are such beautiful dogs and although I still have my reservations about us getting a German Shepherd of our own, they do a good job in convincing me!

A Blogging Book?

I'm almost nervous that this may seem a tad controversial to some of you! But it's something that really helps to keep me focused and organised and I actually find it really fun. Hands up who else has a Blogging Book?

I don't know where I, or my blog, would be without this beauty. It's gone from a scruffy A5 notepad, to a personal Filofax, to this A5 Filofax beast. (But doesn't it look smart?)

One of the main reasons I went for this one is the amount of pockets for things. I'm terrible for losing important documents so now, keep the semi-important things in here so that they're always with me. There's also space for a cheeky sample too! I find the little post-stick-notes really useful for marking dates or notes that I've made and little reminders that need to stand out to me!

Diary. Fairly standard. This way I know that I've got blog posts and ideas to keep my blog going for the week ahead, as well as general work and life stuff. I'm trying to make a real effort with the twitters chats, hence why they're at the bottom of everyday.

Address Book & Telephone Numbers. Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll make friends and connections with fairly important people whose email I want to remember. It also has all of the important numbers in my mobile phone book incase of an emergency.

Notes. I'm surprised at myself for this only having three sections. Inside these are details of houses I like, my wish list and need list. Some blog ideas, a timetable I like to stick to for my blog posts (more on that coming soon) as well as tips and tricks I want to remember. The 'future' tab is a secret for now so shhh.

That just about does it for my diary/blogging book. How do you guys keep yourselves organised?

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Solution

L'OrĂ©al Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution £3.33 - A bit of a mouthful to say it's full title but meet my new best friend. I've never tried Bioderma before which I'm told this is very similar to only cheaper, however I am going to pick some up so that I can compare them for you. Not only is this beauty a bargain at just £3.33 in boots at the moment, it's also going to last a long while as you only need a tiny bit to remove a whole face of make up. I use this before bed and as soon as I wake up and I'm always amazed at how much dirt it lifts from my face even if I've not worn any make up. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, clean and ready for bed or for the day ahead. I did slightly break out when I first started using this but that's probably due to the fact that it was more effective than my previous cream cleanser. The fact that you can use this as a stand alone product if you want to impresses me too, some nights the idea of taking my make up off, cleansing, toning, exfoilating, a serum and then a night time moisturiser sends me to sleep before I've even removed my make up so this is perfect for those lazier nights and quick mornings!

Thoughtful Thursday #1

I've decided to start a new series on a Thursday called Thoughtful Thursday. I'm not sure whether or not it'll run alongside my usual posts or if I'll take a break from beauty for that one day yet. It's just going to be a simple image I've made containing a quote that will hopefully make you stop and think and give you some focus for that day! I hope that you enjoy...

How many of us sit and around and wait for tomorrow to do things and then eventually decide that it's too late to do it now anyway? With weightloss this is something that I do far, far too regularly (thinking, it's too close to my birthday to lose weight now so I may aswell eat what I like) however, if you start whatever it is you're planning today instead of tomorrow, you'll finish one day earlier and I guarantee you won't regret it.

Weightloss Wednesday #1

Everybody around me seems to have buckets of motivation and will power when it comes to dieting and losing weight whilst I'm still sat here in my comfiest jamas (because my jeans no longer fit) eating Chinese and chocolate like it's going out of fashion... Why can't I stop?! I've never are healthily in my life, even when I went to Tunisia last year and was in the best shape I had been in my adult life, I still ate what I wanted and just solely relied on the gym to keep me in shape. Now, the same half arsed attempts at the gym three times a week doesn't seem to be fooling my body and my clothes are painful to wear they are that tight. For weeks now I've wondered how I'm going to get out of this rut and kick myself into gear, I've tried finding some 'thinspiration' (not of the scary, way too thin to be healthy, kind. Of the Michelle Keegan and Abbey Clancy kind) however, if I don't want to be healthy that day, I just don't look at it and then I don't feel so guilty. I've tried saving a photo of how I used to look on my phone to try and spur me on, but even Lee has said I was only 17 then and as with the other photos, if I don't want to look at it and make myself feel bad, I don't. (I don't want these as my backgrounds so that I'm forced to look at them as I'll either look incredibly vain or slightly like a lesbian!) so, I need something else. What better way than to publish your results for all to see, so that you lot can bug me if I miss a week (please do bug me!) and who wants pictures of their weight gain on the web? Not me!
This post has become far too rambly now, but I've got a few ideas of how I'm going to kick myself into becoming slimmer and keep myself in check! Each week I'll do a weightloss Wednesday post and include within it:
My measurements (chest, waist, bum and thigh)
My food diary
And a photo of me in my dead sexy gym gear. Hopefully at Christmas time I'll be able to look back and see myself transform back into the girl I used to be! I don't have a goal in terms of weight as I've always been heavier than I seem to look however to be a very comfortable size 10 on the bottom and 8 on the top would be lovely, and would mean that all of my clothes fit me again.
So here is where I'm starting, this is me and my measurements!

Thigh: 28"
Bum: 41"
Waist: 29"
Chest: 34"

Wish me luck x

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation - £9.99 18ml The newest foundation offering from Max Factor launched earlier this month (I believe) and although I've not heard of hoards of people rushing to buy it, a few of my favourite bloggers have given it a go and it was sold out in my local super drug. I had a go with the tester and it reminded me very much of the miracle touch foundation that seemed very popular at the time but was far too thick and matte for my liking. This seems lighter (probably due to the 'whipped' part of the product) and creamier and more like a usual foundation. It's alleged to give you "flawless demi-matte coverage" and a "fresh-looking matte-finish with a radiant glow". I'm waiting to hear back on the reviews from other bloggers before I take the plunge on this one as I'm personally sceptical of the matte look but it does look intriguing!

My day at the races

Hello lovelies,

It has just occurred to me that in all of the madness that has become my life, I never shared with you the photos that I got from my day at the races for my cousins hen party! There aren't many and they're mainly posed but I like to share special days such as these with you lovely lot!

We were at Newmarket racecourse and although it was a Hawaiian theme day it was still lovely to dress up in a nice frock and feel like royalty for the day!

S5 Purity Serum Review

For a long time I overlooked serums as a gimmick and a waste of time, that was until I tried out a whole new range of products and took the plunge using everything that they offered. So when this came in one of my beauty boxes one month, I was already excited to try it out.

It says that it's for blemish prone skin, which is definately myself at the moment, although my face hasn't completely cleared up, it's definately better than it was. The surface of my skin definately looks so much smoother. In all honesty I tend to only use this once or twice a week due to time restraints and laziness however the morning after I have, my skin feels lovely. Supple and soft and smooth.

Another thing that I love about this product is that you can buy this in two sizes, it's £10 for 10ml or £44 for 30ml so you can opt for a cheaper version to make sure that you like it first. (However if you're savvy you'll have realised that its £14 cheaper to buy 3 x 10ml than one 30ml).

It has Amazonian Bioactives that are proven to reduce oil, the appearance of pores and blemishes.

Batiste Medium & Brunette Dry Shampoo

It's no secret that I love dry shampoo, and, in particular, batiste. I wash my hair as irregularly as I can stand up (up to a week inbetween washes) and it's made my hair grow so, so fast. That obviously means that I need a bloody good dry shampoo to make myself presentable and not disgusting to those who see me during those last few days.

Batiste's normal dry shampoo worked brilliantly on making my hair look less greasy (well, not greasy at all really) however the white powder that it used sometimes left my hair looking grey at the roots. So when I ran out I grabbed the medium & brunette version, slightly more expensive, but totally worth the extra £1 or so.

With this, there is no dreaded grey residue and I think that it actually leaves my hair looking in better condition than the standard dry shampoo. I'd definately recommend this for any brunettes and would tell people with other hair colours to give their blonde and red variations a go too!

Rouge Edition Lipstick by Bourjois

I've become a bit of a lipstick fan recently, up until this year I didn't even own one lipstick and now I find myself picking them up all of the time. This has quickly become a favourite of mine and is one that I will often reach for for a number of different occasions.

This is Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in shade 12 which is Rose Neon. It's a beautiful yet vibrant pink shade that is moisturising and hydrating without being difficult to keep in place and smudging.

It's packaging is cute and feels study so luxurious and the product itself stays on for a good long while before you have to reapply, I'd say 3 to 4 hours depending on what I'm doing. And it doesn't break the bank either.

It's also glossy enough that you don't have to apply a gloss or sheen over the top, it's perfect and ready to go straight away.

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser

As you may remember from when I started this blog, I set out right from the beginning that time is always of the essence for me and any product that does a good job whilst saving me time is a bit hit with me, especially with moisturisers. There is nothing worse than wasting time of a morning waiting for my moisturiser to sink into my skin. I give it the time that it takes for me to brush my hair and that's it, it had better be done by then. This is a beauty for that.

It's Clinique's Moisture Surge Moisturiser. I first tried this out at night, as I do with all new moisturisers, and I was shocked at just how fast my skin was smooth and hydrated, but still dry (if you know what I mean). I think that this is just a sample and Clinique usually offer big sizes with their products (great for longevity) but you barely need to use any of it to cover your whole face and neck so just this will last me a long time.

Clinique are always on the pricier side but, this product is completely and utterly worth it. If you want a fast acting moisturiser that will leave you skin hydrated but ready for make up super quick!

Nars Laguna Bronzer

I know, I know, this isn't exactly a new to the market product or anything, but it's only a few months old to me and I wanted to share my views on it.

As soon as I tried the Nars Laguna Bronzer, I knew that it was the one, I bought a used one off of eBay to make sure that the colour suited me before taking the full plunge. It is so easy to apply and blend and makes me look slightly sun kissed now that I'm pale, or well bronzed during the summer. It's beautifully versatile.

Somebody asked me if I prefer the Benefit Hoola Bronzer or Nars Laguna, and in all honesty? It's probably Nars due to the comparable price tags.

It lasts all day too, I've had times that I've returned home to find all that's left of my makeup is my bronzer (it doesn't make for too good of a look but it proves that it's good)

This photo is from when I was slightly more tanned however you can see the glow that it gives me, I also use it for contouring and it sits beautifully to make my face look oh-so slightly thinner.

Such a perfect day

Hello lovelies,

Every once in a while, you are party to something truly moving and special. In my case this was my beautiful cousins wedding, it's rare that my that side of my family all get together and even rarer that it's for a happy occasion so it was a beautiful change to the norm and wonderful to spend a day with my nearest and dearest.

I don't have any photographs of the blushing bride for two reasons, one, the photographers ones haven't been released yet and I got no useable ones and two, I don't want to be the first person to publish the most precious day of her life so until she sees fit to post them online, I'll hold back. What I do have though are a series of photos of the rest of my gorgeous family, who have supported me and been there for me more than anyone in the past few months and it's a happy reminder that through everything, we love each other very much. Oh, and we all look quite similar apparently! I hope that you enjoy...

As you can see it all got a bit much for Grandad in the end and the only real photos that we got were in the cathedral (which by the way was outstanding) but it's lovely that we now have some happy family memories and what I think are lovely photos to go alongside them.

Mac Studio Finish Concealer

For a long time now I've trusted in my faithful lasting perfection concealer and not strayed away, however recently I've been wanting to try new things and I've heard a lot of good reviews about Mac's Studio Finish so I thought I'd give it a go!

The first thing that I love about this concealer is that it is high coverage, I don't understand concealer a that don't offer coverage? I apply it with my fingers as I'm useless at applying concealer with a brush and after working it in the pan for a few seconds it's lovely and creamy and covers up my dark circles wonderfully.

The colour that I've gone for is NW20 which is definately my winter colour, I'm not sure if I'll repurchase for my summer shade as in all honesty I need less coverage during the summer, but I'm loving this now I'm pale for covering up my blemishes and making my skin look almost flawless.

I've also found that the staying power is pretty darn good as well, I find that if I reapply concealer then it goes very cakey, but I haven't noticed one day where I've felt that I needed to reapply this!

It is a lot more pricey than the lasting perfection concealer from collection however I do think that it's worth it

The beauty industry's secret slaves?

Hello lovelies!

This is an extra post alongside today's beauty one as its of a sombre topic and I wanted to keep my blog happy happy! My Grandad always saves me newspaper articles that he thinks might interest me and this is his latest find, whilst it does interest me, it also scares me...

It's about the staggering amount of people who are apparently being brought into the country for places that are less fortunate and are then forced to work in many of the new nail bars popping up all over the place in order to pay off their debts. It tells a horrid story of how they are forced to often live in the tiny flats above or near the nail salons and are paid an absolute pittance for the hours that they put in, all because somebody trafficked them over here and now these immigrants apparently owe them. I'm not going to act as though I'm totally clued up on the subject and have some vast knowledge of it's ins and outs but this story scared me, we have a nail bar sort of near me that sounds as though it could be doing something similar and that terrifies me.

If you look at the map you may see if one has been discovered in your area, just take care with where you go for all of your treatments.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream - Not worth the hype?

First up, I have only used this the once, but never before have I been so desperate to get home and take off my make up and now I'm a little bit scared to use it again!

Greasy, heavy and uncomfortable, just three words that sum up how my skin felt all day. I put it on about half an hour before my make up as I kept touching my skin and it hasn't yet drunk it in and I wasn't confident in putting my make up on over a moisturiser that was still sat on the surface of my skin. However I ran out of time and in the end had to proceed with the rest of my make up only to wish that I'd taken it off first.

Admittedly my hands felt beautifully soft and so did my face that nice, but all done my face looked shiny and greasy no matter how much I powdered it. I didn't think that this would happen given my dry skin? I am, eventually, going to give this another try as it's not cheap and I'd hate to waste it, but this time as a night moisturiser and probably when I don't have to wear make up the next day, just to see how it works in that area.

I've heard such brilliant reviews about this - am I doing something wrong? Please someone let me know if I've got the wrong end of the stick with this as, as I said, it's not cheap and I don't want to have wasted my money and then be using the product incorrectly.

I'm really sorry, but I don't think that this is for me.

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

Hello lovelies!

Today is a product that I've been wanting to try for a little white now and unfortunately it's not really lived up to the hype. The product is Nivea Express Hydration Primer, I thought that this was going to be my wonderful product and save me loads of time whilst making my skin moisturised and ready for flawless make up. However unfortunately, it leaves my skin flaky and it's almost as though I rub the product off and it moves underneath my foundation when I'm trying to apply it. It's not made my skin look any better once I've finished my make up either.

My only other gripe is the size of the actual product, it's in a good sized boxes and I thought that I was in for a real treat considering the £5.99 price tag, however the pot is less than half the size of the box which left me a little deflated and feeling actually a bit cheated!

I'm going to give this product another try in a few weeks after a really good cleanser and toner and maybe even a separate moisturiser, however for now it's just not the wonder product that I was expecting it to be.

Ghd Air Hairdryer

Hello lovelies,

Now I am back and living with my grandparents I have a little extra money every month and have decided to save it up and buy one thing that I've wanted for ages! This month it was the GHD Air Hairdryer that I have wanted ever since it's launch last year, my hairdresser always uses it on me and it leaves my hair smooth and soft.

It comes with two nozzles, I may have expected more due to the eye watering £99 price tag (a lot for a Hairdryer am I right?) but in actual fact, I only ever dry my hair straight and then style it after and the two that it comes with, plus using it without one at all, covers all of the bases you need it to. There's a small nozzle for precision drying, brilliant if you're blow drying it to style it (I.e not styling it afterwards) a slightly larger one for doing larger chunks of hair, thus less precise but still controlled. And then you can use it with no nozzle for the fastest drying technique and a more rough and diffused look. I tend to always dry my hair as quickly as physically possible and then spend the time either straightening or curling it, or I just leave it as I'm using as little heat as possible on my hair at the moment. It does dry my hair really fast, usually I struggle as my hair is deceptively thick and in pretty naff condition so it can take anywhere up to 40 minutes to dry thoroughly, but with this it's 15 minutes maximum (and I don't towel dry my hair) and it's all bone dry, even in those tricky bits.

It's lightweight too, compared to my older Hairdryer it's a lot less heavy and of corse the shorter drying time means my arm doesn't get tired.

No7 Cleansing Brush - No more need for Clarisonic?

Hello lovelies!
For months now I've been hearing other bloggers rave about the clarisonic and have been desperate to give it a go myself. So when this beauty caught my eye in boots, I was drawn to it like a magpie.

Of course, as you well know it is not the clarisonic, but No7's own version of it. A much cheaper alternative (I think I paid £17.99 as it was on offer) and to be honest I'm not sure what it doesn't do that the clarisonic does.

It possibly doesn't look quite so luxurious but that doesn't bother me, you can still buy replacement heads but as I only use this occasionally for a good deep cleanse, I don't know how often I'll need to.

You simply put on a foaming cleanser and then use this in circular motions around your face, rinse off the excess cleanse et voila! A word of warning though, as with most intensive cleansers, it does make you break out to begin with.

It also left my skin feel totally clean, fresh and so so soft. I'm not quite disciplined enough to use this everyday and for that reason I'm definatley glad that I didn't invest in a pricey clarisonic!

What's in my make-up bag? (Handbag)

Hello lovelies!

How many of you have multiple make up bags? Please tell me that it isn't just me who seems to have one for every occasion!

If you follow me on twitter or, you know, real life. You may know that things have gone a bit topsy-turvy in the last month or so (I think that may be the most polite way that I've put it to date!) and, as such, I am now going between three homes. Which makes transporting a big make up bag rather laborious! So I've split my make up collection up a bit and I'm going to do a few posts to show you what I've put where! I'm not sure how well spaced these will be as I never know which house I'm at until that night!

So, this one stays in my handbag as its for emergencies. I used to work long hours and this was more necessary back then but I like to keep it on me at all times now just incase Lee whisks me away somewhere spontaneously (a girl can hope!)

Benefit "They're real" mascara - I got this mini one as a free gift when I bought the full sized as they were celebrating its anniversary. It's a great deal and is available in most boots stores that I've been in! I'm not going to lie this may be in their due to it being my only miniature mascara but, it just so happens that it's one of my favourites too so I'm never afraid to call on it if needs be!

Laqa & co. "Lil' Lip" Crayon in Wolfman - Again, possibly here because of it's miniature size, but it's also adorable and creates a really nice baby pink sheen on my lips. Perfect for an emergency meeting during work!
(I was trying out the Retrica app for most of these photos so here's one of the lip crayon's finish with no filter)

Birchbox Let the Sunshine In Mirror - a staple and a must. This is so cute and as it doesn't have a lid it easily slips into my make up bag.

Benefit Fluff Shadow brush - I think this may be an eBay fake as there is a fair bit of fall out when it comes to the bristles however it does the job in an emergency and it's shorter handle makes it nice and compact. I also don't miss it from my day to day collection.

Rimmel's wake me up concealer in "Ivory" - a must have for me, I seem to have got more spots now I'm no longer a teenager rather than less and my dark circles under my eyes never fade no matter how rested I am. This is lovely and creamy and has a medium coverage.

Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in "Transparent" - Apologies again for the filter. Another staple that I would never be without in my main make up bag or my handbag one. Great for mattifying my forehead if it gets a bit shiny in the heat and after reapplying my concealer.

Clinique Eyeshadow Quad various colours - Another apology for the filter, I think that I got a bit carried away! This used to be my everyday quad until I got my mitts on the likes of Chanel and Urban Decay's naked palletes. Now the purples and neutrals work wonderfully together and it is effortless to create a soft yet smoky look.

Avon Powder Brush - Not really for all over powdering but I manage to make it work when I need to. Luckily I have quite dry skin so I don't need to reapply powder too often but it's really soft and supple for when I do so the fact that it's possibly the wrong shape does matter quite so much.

I haven't included a lip product as I try not to keep these in my handbag else they never see the light of day again and I mix it up as much as possible with what I wear on my lips.

Love and kisses
