Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation | Review

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation £29.50 - This foundation is definitely a cult classic amongst bloggers and the general public alike, there aren't many people who haven't a least had a sample of this over the years and it seems to be a bit of a marmite product. It's claimed to be the number one selling foundation in the UK so even though I'd tried it before and not really liked it, I decided to give it another whirl. A lot of the complaints is that it's just too thick and different to manipulate... After a lot of testing and different application techniques, it can be, but only if you put too much on or your brush is getting clogged up. If I've been lazy and not washed my brush in a while then I will give this one a miss as it is difficult to get a smooth finish if your brush isn't clean, and I also find that when I try and rush this by putting a lot on in one go, it doesn't really play ball either. However if my brushes are clean and I'm prepared to be a little more patient then this gets a look in rather often. I tend to use this for shopping days out where I can be out of the house for over 10 hours a day or if we're going for a walk on a Sunday morning, I was super surprised to see how well it held up after an extremely blustery walk around Belton House the other week. I personally have grown to love this foundation again but I can see why others might not, my only gripe is that it doesn't come with a pump so it is really easy to get too much out at one go, especially if you're not used to the consistency. The price tag is on the high side so I'm not sure it will ever be my everyday foundation and with summer on it's way (finally) it may get pushed to the back for it's Daywear BB Cream Cousin...
